Aggeliana, Rethymno
“Athos” workshop, where natural personal care products are made, is located in Aggeliana, Rethymnon. The pure materials of the Cretan land, the herbs, the essential oils enrich the core of the extra virgin organic olive oil, creating pure and original soaps, creams as well as herbal extracts.
Our soaps are produced by means of cold process saponification, using organic Cretan extra virgin olive oil, filtered water, organic herbs and essential (ethereal) oils. Cold process saponification preserves all their valuable ingredients.
They contain no preservatives, colors and synthetic fragrances. A small amount of olive oil has been replaced with vegetable oils* offering even more properties for skin care. During saponification, natural glycerin is produced and remains in the soap, making it soft, though better for our skin.
The process we follow is environmentally friendly, as it requires minimum energy and it creates no waste. Our soaps are left to mature for at least two months before they are ready to use. They are handmade products of excellent quality, suitable for the face, the body and the hair.
*Coconut oil, sweet almond oil, avocado oil, shea butter and cocoa butter.
Our creams are made of organic Cretan extra virgin olive oil, sweet almond oil, natural beeswax, organic herbs and essential oils. They do not contain water, therefore they are preserved for a long time without chemicals and preservatives. They are naturally colored and scented only by essential oils.
They care for and refresh the skin naturally. They moisturize and protect face and body alike, while contributing to skin healing and restoration.
Herbs have been a strong ally to people’s health and beauty since antiquity. Their beneficial properties emerge when herbs are combined with olive oil. Τhe process results in an excellent oil for youngsters and adults alike, with medicinal as well as cosmetic use.
Our extracts contain organic Cretan extra virgin olive oil, organic herbs and essential (ethereal) oils, offering an authentic quality deeply rooted in the Cretan tradition.

Our village sprouts, a cause for inspiration for our careful creations. In this place, the magic of the Psiloritis mountain meets the sea foam on the other end, resulting in the arrangement of a lively but peaceful place at the same time. In Aggeliana, Mylopotamos, the 700 inhabitants and the visitors can enjoy relaxing walks, excellent Cretan food, while they get the opportunity to attend various activities.
One of them is a tour in our cottage industry.
Our cottage industry is located in a wooden privately owned space, very warm and welcoming, created by ourselves, with the greatest possible concern for the environment. Although it is quite small, it fits all our creativity!
So you can visit us! Most likely you will succeed us in our yard, take care of our flowers and vegetables or enjoy our coffee under the coolness of our favorite plane tree!
